When Gary Wise inherited his dad’s farmland, the land grew row crops of soy and tobacco. Gary decided to try his hand at produce and has found lots of success. With a natural talent for understanding soil composition, crops that he can grow well, and how to tap into new markets, Gary has found the successes needed to focus on produce and scale up his production.

Gary originally drove an hour every day to sell his products at the NC State Farmers Market. His parents now sell his produce at the market so he can farm and prepare orders for grocery stores and wholesale customers. Farming about 150 acres, Gary is able to plant unique crops such as baby bok choy, as well as traditional produce crops. This makes him a special farmer with whom FreshPoint enjoys partnering.
