In the early 1970’s, the original owner of Tega Hills Farm began growing hydroponic tomatoes in 2 greenhouses. The sale of "Tega Hills Tomatoes" became a much-anticipated annual event. In the early 90s, the original owner sold the farm to Judy Wiles who continued the small farm operation. Mindy and Mark Robinson bought the farm in 1999. They kept the tradition of tomatoes alive, and invigorated the farm to what it is today.
Mindy and Mark, self-taught farmers, now focus on hydroponic microgreens and lettuces. They began growing microgreens at the request of a local chef. Due to the controlled atmosphere greenhouses, they’re able to harvest year-round. In the warmer seasons, they also grow unique specialties, like squash blossoms and edible flowers in the spring, and hot peppers in the summer.
