Old School Farm is a nonprofit care farm nestled in the Bells Bend area of Nashville, TN. They are dedicated to cultivating both community and fresh, local produce.
Old School Farm employs adults with disabilities as “mission farmers,” providing supportive, meaningful employment while growing a diverse mix of vegetables, fruits, and flowers on 1.5 acres of sustainably managed land. These mission farmers gain valuable skills and confidence as they help nourish food-insecure families, with much of their harvest donated to local food banks and The Store, a free grocery supporting Nashville residents in need. They also have a community-supported agriculture (CSA) box program. In this subscription-based box, customers can purchase seasonal farm products to support a local farm’s harvest in advance. This directly supports the farmer and enables the community to share in the risks and rewards of the growing season. The farm is a part of the Care Farming Network, which is a group of farms who use therapeutic farming to promote health, well-being and belonging.
The farm grows products like kale, bok choy, chard, lettuce, collards, figs, tomatoes, and hibiscus.
Old School Farm also operates a pottery studio, hosts educational workshops on sustainable farming and preservation. As a River Friendly Farm, they are also committed to protecting our land and waterways through responsible land stewardship. At Old School Farm, they believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food and the dignity of purposeful work. They are building a stronger, more inclusive Nashville for all!
