Founder and owner Tom Imondi spent his youth on a small family-run farm in Cranston, RI. The family grew crops and raised chickens that produced about 500 dozen brown eggs, which they sold to their surrounding neighbors.
Tom left the small farm behind to pursue a degree at the University of Rhode Island. Seeing a need for a wholesale egg supplier in his home state, Tom took the opportunity to start his business selling eggs. In 1985 Imondi Eggs was born with a small truck and a modest refrigerated barn. Imondi worked with local farms to develop a tradition of fresh eggs, quality customer service, and reasonable prices. Imondi Eggs has grown to become one of the largest wholesale egg companies in the area. Today, Imondi Foods sells over 2 million shell, liquid and frozen eggs weekly to customers throughout the Northeast.
Tom has continued to grow and evolve his business. Imondi Eggs became Imondi Foods in 2004 by expanding its product line, its storage facilities and its staff. Today, Imondi Foods trucks thousands of items to customers from its busy 40,000 square foot warehouse in West Warwick, RI. Imondi supports local farms by sourcing its eggs from the Northeast, particularly Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
