Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy is a 130-acre family-owned farm located north of Pittsburgh, PA in northern Allegheny County. Their mission is to create delicious products and to preserve the Pennsylvania farmland, one wheel of cheese at a time.
The farm is home to a herd of more than 100 Alpine and Nubian dairy goats. They also bring in other locally sourced cow and goat milk to make a variety of award winning fresh and aged cheeses using traditional techniques for artisan cheese production.
It started, as most good stories do, with a goat! And before you knew it, there was another goat, and then another. Then, with all those goats, it quickly became about milk. And then, happily, cheese! They became students of cheese and met wonderful, generous cheesemakers across the country. The more they learned, the more they wanted to learn.
That’s when it became clear that they’d found a calling and began to work on their creamery. By the time the creamery was completed, they had a happy herd of goats and some cheery neighboring cows, all delighted to provide what would become the fruits of their labors – Goat Rodeo Cheeses.
From fresh chevre to interesting, aged cheeses, they’re creating some of the region’s finest cheeses, from goat’s milk, cow’s milk, and a delicious blend of both! They also make sweet, creamy goat’s milk caramels.
