Circa 1790, John Foster's ancestors started Foster Farm in South Windsor, CT. From apples to dairy, the first generation of Fosters farmed "a little bit of everything." Today, 40 year-old John Foster grows pumpkins, corn, and tobacco on a plentiful 150 acres.
From September through November, Foster Farm hosts a corn maze on 8 acres of land with an annually changing theme. They also have a farm play yard, friendly farm animals, as well as a marvelous selection of pumpkins and mums to keep the family fun rolling.
John recalls first getting into the farming business. "In my family, I didn't think I wanted to farm, but that changed when I was 20 years old." John is proud to be an eighth generation farmer and hopes his children, Caitlin and Meghan, will carry on the Foster family tradition.
