Driscoll's headquarters are located in Watsonville, CA and is a family owned company. In 1904, the Driscoll and the Reiter families began farming strawberries. In 1944 Driscoll's and Reiter's develop superior patented varieties and founded The Strawberry Institute, dedicated to researching and breeding superior varieties. In 1953 Driscoll's Strawberry Associates is founded and merged with The Strawberry Institute in 1966. In 1971 the Driscoll's Brand is born.

Berries aren't produced in a factory; they're grown outside in a dynamic biological environment. The farmers' challenge is to work with nature, using years of experience and know-how to get the very best out of each berry plant. The goal of every Driscoll's farmer is to shape, rather than control, the biological diversity of their fields, with a minimum amount of agricultural inputs.
