Tennemo Rice Company is a family-owned rice farm and mill located near Dyersburg, Tennessee, just miles from the Mississippi River. Operated by the Schultz family, the farm was founded by first-generation farmers Carl and Marvin Schultz and has grown into Tennessee’s only family-owned rice farm and mill.

Today, Carl farms alongside the next generation — John, Joseph, and William Schultz. They work together for every step of the process, from planting and harvesting to milling and packaging, ensuring complete traceability and quality in every bag. The farm produces white, brown, jasmine, and basmati rice in both 25-pound and 10/2.5-pound pack sizes.

Their rice is grown on precision-leveled and contour-leveed fields designed for controlled flooding, a traditional practice that helps naturally manage weeds and maintain grain quality. After harvest, the rice is milled onsite, where it is de-hulled, polished, optically sorted, and packaged by the family themselves.

Tennemo Rice was born from a desire to diversify beyond traditional row crops and create a more sustainable future for the family farm. Their mission is rooted in stewardship, community, and preserving farmland for future generations.
