New England Apple Products is a company that stemmed from the Standard Vinegar Company founded in 1865 in Somerville, MA. Current owner Steve Rowse's great-grandfather Arthur Edward Rowse Sr. worked at the vinegar operation as a salesman and purchased the company in 1900. Standard Vinegar changed its name to New England Apple Products as it moved away from vinegar towards apple cider.

A conversation between Franklyn Carlson of Carlson Orchards in Harvard, MA and Steve Rowse ultimately led to Steve acquiring the cider-making portion of Carlson's business. In 2011, Rowse moved New England Apple Products into a 34,000 square foot industrial building in Leominster, MA, about 15 miles from Carlson's farm and only a few miles from the birthplace of John "Johnny Appleseed" Chapman, where it operates today.

With apple storage technology having improved over the years, the company buys apples and makes cider 12 months a year, though a majority of the volume still gets pressed between Labor Day and Christmas. The company produces 500,000 gallons of cider each fall using locally sourced fruit and two hydraulic presses.
