In 1910, 20 year-old Louis Preli had enough saved up to buy seven acres of farmland in South Glastonbury, just six years after emigrating from northern Italy. Now a fourth generation farm, Donald and Michael Preli harvest 155 acres of a wide variety of fruits and berries: apples, blueberries, cherries, nectarines, peaches, pears, raspberries, grapes, strawberries, plums, and pumpkins. Belltown is complete with a Farm Market & Bakery which features their exquisite apple cider donuts and a section called "Grandma's Pantry" which showcases the farm's fresh preserves, dried fruits, and syrups.

Belltown is expanding into new markets and using new technologies. The first wind machine in the state was placed inside the orchard to help prevent frost damage in the spring. The wind machine pushes the rising warm air back toward the trees, keeping them a couple degrees above freezing. A vineyard was planted to expand a growing wine industry in Connecticut."Perelli Vineyards" is named in honor of their Grandma Preli. They have also recently added a state-of-the-art cold storage facility which enables them to provide their wonderful crops to a wider audience for a longer period of time.
