Waterkist Farm is a family owned and operated greenhouse run by the husband and wife team, Roger Worst and Melanie Corun. The beginning of their farm was inspired by the memories of their grandmother’s tomatoes, who grew them in her backyard in Maryland--you know the ones, those tasty, juicy, old fashioned flavored tomatoes that you can no longer find. Not wanting to deal with weeds and uncontrollable weather and insects, they decided to choose hydroponic growing methods, and in 2000, Waterkist Farm was born.
They began by growing only beefsteak tomatoes, but since, have turned their specialty over to heirloom varieties. Their reason for growing is based on one principle, and that is taste. They have been providing high quality tomatoes to local restaurants for 16 years.
