Billy Augustine is a second-generation farmer and the owner of Pretty Boy Farms. Billy grew up growing blueberries but wanted to diversify his crops when he bought his own farm.
In 2014, Billy began growing tomatoes in high tunnels. The high tunnels allow the plants to produce an exceptional quality tomato in the off-season when field growers are still waiting for their tomatoes to ripen. Billy currently has 32 high tunnels with round, roma, grape and heirloom tomatoes.
Pollination is an important factor in farming. In 2018, Billy began experimenting with bee keeping, and he installed a small bee hive for each high tunnel.
