Florida Sweet Peaches are the fruits of many years of diligent labor. Developed at the University of Florida, these peaches are specifically created to prosper in the warm climates of Florida. For over 45 years the University has been working along with their growers to perfect the equation.
The result? Delicious, juicy, early season peaches that are grown locally, picked daily, and guaranteed to be Florida Sweet. Ralph Chamberlain and Donald Padgett have spent decades of their lives submersed in the Florida agriculture industry. Ralph has managed over 2,500 acres of citrus at Eden Town Groves for over 16 years. When canker destroyed over 600 acres of grove, along with many of the nurseries that would have been able to offer replacement trees, Ralph was forced to find a non-citrus solution.
His search for an alternative led him to friend and colleague Donald Padgett. Donald grew up in agriculture and has spent the past 20 years contracting, engineering, planting and irrigating over 2 million of our state's orange trees. Together, they developed an interest in Florida peaches and that interest motivated them to seek knowledge. That new-found knowledge paved the way for their exciting new passion—growing Florida Sweet Peaches.
Florida has provided both Ralph and Donald with a career, a home, and a place to raise their families. They take pride in their work and in the quality of the produce that they grow, and are confident that the Florida sunshine is a large part of what makes their peaches second to none.
